The SWP has a dedicated staff of biologists, planners and educators that provide creative, science-based solutions to address a variety of water quality, land use and community challenges.
"Our goals are to diligently watch over the watershed, advocate for wise use of resources, educate students and public, and permanently protect the integrity of the wilderness for our grandchildren and theirs. To do this, we conduct sound science through our ongoing MiCorps water monitoring programs on the Yellow Dog River, the Salmon Trout River, and Lake Independence. YDWP owns and cares for over 2300 acres of forested property within the Yellow Dog Watershed. Our volunteer land stewardship program watches over these lands and any activities throughout the area."
